History

Founded by Test cricketers William Gunn and Thomas James Moore in 1885, Gunn & Moore (GM) has operated out of Nottingham for nearly 140 years. The Colwick factory still presses every premium GM bat in-house.

GM pioneered the L.E. (Lighter Edge) range in the 1980s and built the Original — the bat that defined Brian Lara's record-breaking eras at Edgbaston and Antigua. The Diamond, introduced in the late 1990s, became Andrew Flintoff's weapon through the 2005 Ashes.

Today GM sponsors Ben Stokes, Joe Root (until 2024), and a generation of English county batters. The Diamond, Icon, and Noir profiles dominate their modern lineup.
