History

MRF — Madras Rubber Factory — does not manufacture bats. It is a tyre company whose sponsorship stickers became cricket's most famous logo. The actual blades are made by partner factories, including SG and SS, then branded MRF.

Sachin Tendulkar's MRF Genius is the most recognised cricket bat of all time. From 1999 until his retirement in 2013 it was on his shoulder for every innings — including the 200* in Gwalior and his hundredth international hundred.

Today MRF sponsors Virat Kohli (Genius Grand Edition), Shubman Gill, and Steve Smith for Indian domestic appearances.
