History
Spartan was founded in 2003 by Australian businessman Kunal Sharma. The brand exploded into global recognition when Michael Hussey and MS Dhoni signed long-term deals in the late 2000s.
Dhoni's Spartan MSD 7 is among the most photographed bats of the IPL era. Chris Gayle's Spartan 'CG' bats — black with gold lions — became synonymous with T20 six-hitting.
Spartan has had turbulent business years but remains a strong subcontinental brand.
